Our Kindergarten program will meet five days a week for five hours each day, from 8:45am – 1:45pm, offering a balanced and engaging schedule that supports both learning and play. Each day will include:

• Traditional classroom instruction focused on developmentally appropriate academic skills through engaging opportunities and creative lesson planning

• An hour for lunch and extended play, fostering social-emotional growth, independence, and developing peer relationships

• An additional hour of enrichment, including STEAM exploration, art, music, physical education, and hands-on creative learning opportunities lead by passionate and professional staff.

A Strong Academic Foundation

Kindergarten at Mustard Seed Preschool will support growth across all essential learning areas, including:

• Literacy: Early reading skills, phonics, letter recognition, handwriting, storytelling, listening comprehension, and a growing love of literacy

• Mathematics: Number sense, counting, patterns, basic addition and subtraction, measurement, problem-solving, and hands-on math exploration

• Science & STEAM: Curiosity-driven learning through experiments, creative building, and engineering challenges

• Social Studies: Understanding community, unique family systems, individual responsibility, cooperation, and respect for others

• Fine & Gross Motor Development: Strengthening coordination through writing, art, movement, and play based opportunities

• Faith-Based Learning: Age-appropriate Bible stories, prayer, character development, and lessons rooted in Christian values including loving others, faith, forgiveness, and being a light unto the world.

Instruction will be guided by a qualified Kindergarten teacher, using a curriculum that aligns with New Jersey Kindergarten standards while allowing flexibility for individualized instruction and differentiated learning. Children will be supported at their own pace, ensuring they are both challenged and encouraged.
